Hi, friends — I’ve been busy preparing a solo show of my drawings at Jennifer Terzian Gallery in Litchfield, Connecticut, opening on Saturday, October 29. Still Life is a survey of more than 50 drawings from the last six years, including a big, bright group that I’ve posted in this newsletter. If you’re in the area, please stop by the opening from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. The show runs through December 3, and I’m planning another open house on November 20. There are wild life and still life drawings, plus a group of colored pencil drawings of flowers and house plants.
When birding or watching for other animals, people talk about finding a “sit spot” where you can sit still for 20 minutes or more, until the creatures become accustomed to you and begin to go about their business again. It’s a terrific idea, and I feel like I’ve done the same in cities, too. It’s another idea for “still life” — there’s so much to see when you take a moment to be still.

Fall sightings: orb weavers galore, herons, swans, Canada geese, red-tailed hawk, possum, raccoon, white-tailed deer, turkeys. How about you? There’s been a lot of talk around town about black bears, and here are some tips for how to make space and live with them, and what to do if you see one (hey, bear!).
Wild Life / this newsletter is a place to learn about the life around us, one animal at a time. I do this because I’m not sure what to do about the millions of species in danger of extinction. It means something to see and enjoy the life around us. Thanks for reading and sharing. See you next time.
Thank you Amy. Congratulations on the shows.
Wonderful, Amy Jean!!!
